The Dolomites Val Gardena is a holiday destination for skiers with children, noisy groups, as well as for world championship stars looking for a more sporty challenge. This resort offers wide, long runs for everyone from dummies to extreme skiers.

The ski resort Dolomiti Val Gardena is part of the larger Dolomiti Superski region, which consists of 12 ski resorts in the Dolomite Alps that you can access with just one ski pass.

A ski paradise for beginners and world championship stars

Alpe di Susi in the Dolomite Alps-Val Gardena ski area has become a favorite starting point for beginners and families whose children are taking their first “steps” on skis. Here you will find blue and green slopes that are ideal for learning.

From Selva Val Gardena, a picturesque village in the Dolomite Alps Val Gardena, you can also directly reach the Sella Ronda ski carousel, which will give you an unforgettable skiing route on the Sella Massif.

In Val Gardena you can ski the longest ski slope in South Tyrol, “La Longia”, which is more than 10 km long! All the slopes have many crossings: from wide slopes to a natural canyon with a frozen waterfall: a true bliss for every skier!

Val Gardena ski resort is the most beautiful region in the Dolomites

When it comes to awards, no one compares to the Val Gardena resort.

Regular visitors to the region confirm that the Dolomites Val Gardena is the most beautiful ski area in the world: countless Internet portals and companies have awarded the Dolomites Val Gardena numerous statuettes for its diversity, hospitality and breathtaking scenery!

Only in Val Gardena you can find 300 sunny days a year. Despite the sun and warm weather at the foot of the mountain, the slopes are always covered with snow thanks to the high mountains (2,000 meters) and snowmaking equipment.  The perfect resort for boosting much-needed vitamin D, isn’t it?

There are about 175 kilometers of pistes in the valley, of which about a third are for beginners, about half for skiers who already have some skiing experience and the rest are for professionals.

The center of Val Gardena – a small resort of Santa Cristina

The little town of Santa Cristina is in the heart of Val Gardena. From the small resort you can easily get to all the important places in the valley. Santa Cristina is smaller and quieter compared to other towns. If you are looking for a family resort with few people vacationing, Santa Cristina is for you.

Santa Cristina is a great starting point for skiing, hiking, mountain biking or mountain climbing any time of year. Families love the fact that many gondolas and cable cars are open in the summer, allowing them to take their kids to scenic areas and enjoy the freshest mountain air.

On a separate note, there are numerous ski schools for skiers of all ages within the Santa Cristina resort. All schools in Santa Cristina have professional teachers, so it is best to choose a school within walking distance of the hotel. For younger children (from one to three years), there is a children’s ski school, five full days of training that costs around 190 euros.

There are also children’s mini clubs. Every day from 09.00 to 16.00 you have the opportunity to give children in the mini club and ride just the two of them.

Santa Cristina for lovers of racing…. and wine!

Santa Cristina hosts some fantastic ski races every year: two Saslong FIS World Cup races in December and Gardenissima at the end of the ski season in April. Other sporting attractions include the Saslong Half Marathon or endurance race and the Seira dl Vin, an event for wine lovers from the Alto Adige and Tyrol region.

No two weeks are the same in Santa Cristina! Every weekend visitors have the opportunity to visit traditional festivals, farmer’s markets and sports competitions. There is sure to be a program to your taste!

Where do I get a ski pass?

All towns in Val Gardena have official ski pass offices. Single and multi-day passes can also be purchased at the bottom stations of the main elevators. Some of the hotels can provide you with ski passes.
