About Ortisei Resort

The Italian resort of Ortisei is one of the oldest in the Val Gardena Valley. It is a magical town in the heart of the Alps, an ideal place for beginners, professionals and families.

Ortisei is situated at 1,235 m in the gentle part of the valley in Trentino-Alto Adige and is part of the Santa Cristina and Selva Gardena area. All towns are linked by a common network of elevators and shared trails, the ski area extends to 2,500 m. The season begins in early December and ends in April.

Slopes

There are 1,200 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes in Ortisei. There are never queues and crowds of tourists. This is the ideal place for a relaxing and comfortable holiday.

In the vicinity of the town is equipped with 25 trails of varying difficulty level. Of these:

  • 12 routes for beginners;
  • 11 – for intermediate level of training;
  • The two most difficult trails.

For those who are just learning to ski, the more relaxed Alpe di Suisi is suitable. Sella Ronda and Mont de Seura are the routes for the confident skiers. For professionals and connoisseurs of the downhill is intended a black trail Saslong, the length of which is about 3,000 meters. Those who love adrenaline should go up Ciampinoi and Marmolada – the highest peak of the Alps.

There are a few ski schools in the town, where professional instructors will not only teach you how to stand and ski, but also master the skills of snowboarding.

All routes are serviced by 12 elevators. There are 12 lifts:

Passes vary in price depending on the ski area.

The resort provides discounts:

  • Children ages 3-8 ski for free;
  • The tourists from 65 years old and children at the age of 8-16 years old have the discounts.

For lovers of active recreation

For fans of outdoor activities the resort has a snowpark Furdenan, where everyone can ride a tubing. For children a small slope is equipped, slides are installed and playgrounds are open.

Freeride is not very popular in the region. Fans should go down to the lower station in the area of Seceda. The slopes are often covered with ice crust, off-piste descents are safest in the first days after a heavy snowfall.
