About Passo del Tonale

Passo Tonale Valley is one of the quietest and most tranquil of the Alpine resorts. The village is located at an altitude of 1,883 m on the border with Trentino and Lombardy. It is a great place for beginners and couples with children as well as professionals.

The ski season at the resort is one of the longest. It begins in October and ends in May. At the tops of the snow cover and in the summer is quite stable, which will undoubtedly please tourists. On the slopes of the mountains excellent sun, skiers will get a great bonus – a great tan while skiing.

Slopes

Passo del Tonale is remarkable not only for the variety of slopes of more than 100 km and plenty of sunny days, but also for the beautiful snow. According to the local population snow cover in the valley and on the slopes, the best in the Alps.

A well-developed network of funiculars takes skiers to seven peaks of the mountain range, including Presena (3,069 m). Most routes are designed for beginners, there are also open trails for intermediate level skiers. Experienced tourists can try their hand at the extreme descent route Paradiso.

Wide slopes of the highlands are ideal for off-piste skiing. They belong to the routes of medium difficulty. The Ponte di Legno also offers some lower slopes, but also gently slopes that can be enjoyed even in heavy snowfall.

The southern part of the massif is considered more difficult. The cabins take skiers up to Passo Paradiso (2,585 m), where the steep Pista Paradiso trail, about 2.5 km long, comes down. Snowboarders will be interested to visit the park located in Tonale.

Passo Tonale offers a luxurious holiday to heliski lovers. They have at their disposal a snowfield that begins at an altitude of 3 500 m on the glacier. The altitude difference in these places is 2 000 m. Especially interesting is the skiing at night, when the electric torches are turned on. This spectacular show attracts not only skiers, but also spectators.

For kids

The resort’s high quality service has also taken care of the youngest tourists. There are several schools in the valley, as well as a ski kindergarten with a dedicated area for skiing. Experienced instructors will teach both kids and adults how to ski in just a couple or three lessons.

Elevators

Passo Tonale combines Ponte di Legno and Presena areas into one skiing area that gives a permanent access to over 100 kilometers of trails between 1,257 m and 3,010 m. There are 29 elevators in the valley.

Ski passes

Upon arrival to the valley it is advantageous to purchase a single pass. The ski pass gives the opportunity to ski in all resorts of Dolomiti di Brenta, as well as to use all kinds of elevators. It is more than 260 kilometers of routes of varying difficulty levels.

Entertainment

After active skiing tourists will be interesting to ride a sled run by dogs. This holiday will bring no less excitement than the rushing down from the peaks.
